Black & Dangerous
“Black & Dangerous” is a collaborative project utilizing poetry, portraiture, and reportage to redefine the way Black people are perceived because of stereotypes. Through various visual and audible mediums, Black folk share their individual experiences, beliefs, and feelings of what it means to be Black & Dangerous, both to society and as redefined to themselves.
SEE ME: Looking with In(ten)tion
"SEE ME: Looking with In(ten)tion" exhibit is a project created by fourteen High Point University juniors and seniors (2017) enrolled in a Service Learning Documentary Photography class under the direction of Benita VanWinkle.
Three Black Wall Streets
“Three Black Wall Streets” was created to bring attention to the vibrant Black communities that were prosperous and self-sustaining, and which no longer exist. This interactive site highlights the key players and moments in history that contributed to the creation of these thriving communities.
